Sunday In The Park With George was my first show as the head sound engineer. The one thing that was fun about this show is that it was all outside! This made things a little more interesting, but at the same time more fun. The use of Yamaha's Rio and Tio for inputs and outputs for the orchestra as well as for the speakers was crucial. DCAs were also programmed to make only the necessary mics open during certain scenes. For this show we rented a QL5, which was a board which I had never worked on before, but was very familiar with due to using the Yamaha M7 prior. This show taught me a lot about digital sound equipment and how much you can do with so little.
